Application

HYDROAKSILUX is intended for the reinforcement and protection of substrates, especially loose, including old brick, plaster, especially indoors, where it is necessary to give the surface a high resistance to moisture and water and dirt. It can also be used to protect eternit. Applying the impregnator twice strengthens eternit. The surface so impregnated does not need to be painted with paint for eternit.

Productivity: 3-8 m2 from 1 litre of impregnant for one impregnation - the efficiency depends on the surface structure and absorbability of the substrate - a consumption test is recommended

Properties

  • gives hydrophobicity to the protected surface, prevents the surface from soaking up water
  • increases the resistance of the surface to moisture and dirt
  • enables the surface to be kept clean
  • prevents loose bonded surfaces from settling
  • in the case of mass-coloured concrete surfaces, the impregnation enlivens their colour,
  • on uncoloured surfaces it gives the effect of a damp surface

Expert advice

Surface preparation:

Impregnate should be applied to a cleaned and dry surface. Clean surfaces preferably with pressure tools using water and detergent. Remove traces of algae and fungus with agents designed for this purpose.

The impregnated substrate should have a temperature in the range: 80C - 300C

Application:

Mix the impregnate thoroughly before use.

Apply one, two or three coats depending on the absorbency of the substrate and the intended end result. Apply each successive coat before the previous one has dried out, i.e. within at least 1 hour of applying the previous coat.

It is best to use a low-pressure sprayer to apply the impregnate to large areas. The impregnate can also be applied with a roller or brush.

Note: Cleaning and painting of eternit should only be carried out by contractors due to the dustiness of asbestos and the need for professional preparation of the eternit surface for painting.

Use water to wash the painting tools.
Impregnate at a temperature of 50C - 350C.
