Expert advice
Substrate preparation:
The concrete floor to be painted should be seasoned, dry and clean. Permissible moisture content of the substrate 4%-humidity in most cases obtained after 28 days of concrete seasoning ( at 20°C).
Grease and oil stains are best removed by burning or washing with a suitable agent.
Mechanically trowelled concrete and smooth, compact surfaces should first be roughened to ensure good adhesion of the coating. This can be done by mechanical grinding. This improves adhesion and also removes dirt and cement polish.
When painting a concrete floor previously painted or impregnated, remove old paint coats, clean the floor of impregnation.
In the case of old concrete, loosely bonded concrete fragments should be removed and cavities should be filled. Then it is beneficial to sand the surface.
It is recommended to prime the surface with AKSILUX impregnate
In certain cases, EKO-DUR PODKLATE can be used.
Note: The product is designed for concrete surfaces. Do not apply to the surface obtained from self-levelling screeds intended for tiles, floor coverings.
Painting:
Mix the paint before painting. Apply 2-3 coats. The next coat should be applied after about 3 hours. The coating can be used after 24 hours, and vehicle traffic can take place after the coating is fully cured, i.e. 7 days. Apply the paint with a brush, roller or spray twice.
Use water to wash the painting tools.
All painting work should be carried out at an ambient temperature of not less than 150C, and preferably at 20 ± 50C. Permissible humidity of the air up to 70%. Do not use at high humidity. Protect the painted surfaces from rain
and frost.
