Preparation of substrate:
Concrete floor to be painted should be seasoned, dry and clean. Allowable substrate moisture content of 4 % - moisture content in most cases obtained after 28 days of concrete seasoning ( at 20°C).
Grease and oil stains are best removed by burning or washing with a suitable agent.
Mechanically trowelled concrete and smooth, compact surfaces should first be roughened to ensure good adhesion of the coating. This can be done by mechanical grinding. This improves adhesion and also removes dirt and cement laitance.
When painting a previously painted or impregnated concrete floor, old paint coatings should be removed, the floor should be cleaned of impregnant.
In the case of old concrete, loosely bonded concrete fragments should be removed and cavities filled in. Then it is advantageous to sand the surface.
It is recommended to prime the surface with AKSILUX impregnator
In certain cases EKO-DUR PODKLATE can be used.
Note: The product is intended for concrete surfaces. Do not apply to surfaces obtained from self-levelling screeds intended for tiles, floor coverings.
Painting:
Mix the paint before painting. Apply 2-3 coats. Apply the next coat after approx. 3 hours. The coating can be used after 24 hours, and vehicle traffic can take place after the coating has fully cured, i.e. after 7 days. Apply the paint by brush, roller or spraying twice.
Use water to wash the painting tools.
All painting work should be carried out at an ambient temperature of not less than 150C, preferably 20 ± 50C. Permissible air humidity up to 70 %. Do not apply in high humidity. Protect painted surfaces from rain and frost.
