Preparation of the substrate:
Surfaces to be painted should be degreased with water from AKSIKOR Washing and Degreasing Preparation (as recommended in the Technical Data Sheet of AKSIKOR Washing and Degreasing Preparation) using a foam gun or by hand. Then wash (preferably with a pressure washer) and rinse with water and dry.
Place with traces of corrosion should be mechanically cleaned to clean metal (grade St2 according to EN ISO 8501-1 and EN ISO 12944-4 - the surface must not contain dust or poorly adherent particles of scale, rust or paint residues). Use metal brushes or preferably mechanical tools. In the case of galvanised surfaces, the galvanised coating must not be damaged. Thoroughly dust off the surfaces after sanding.
Painting of galvanised sheet metal cleaned of corrosion:
Product in the package should be mixed thoroughly.
Place cleaned of corrosion using the above described method should be immediately spot painted with AKSIKOR PODKŁAD anti-corrosive primer in commercial form. Depending on the corrosion hazard, apply 1 or 2 layers of primer. Apply the next primer coat after 6 hours under normal conditions (temp. +20±2°C, RH 55±5%).
Leave to dry for 24 hours. After this time you can paint with AKSIKOR or AKSIKOR PREMIUM.
New galvanised surfaces require a minimum of 1 year air seasoning before painting.
Painting of coated sheet:
Please note that coated sheet where the manufacturer does not allow painting is not suitable for painting. Similarly, freshly coated sheets that have not been exposed to the weather (exposure must have lasted for at least 2 years) should not be painted.
Smooth, glossy surfaces should be matted before painting, e.g. with sandpaper or fleece. The surfaces to be painted should be degreased with water and AKSIKOR Washing and Degreasing Agent (as recommended in the Technical Data Sheet of AKSIKOR Washing and Degreasing Agent) using a foam gun or by hand. Then wash (preferably with a high-pressure cleaner with a rotary nozzle) and rinse with water and dry.
In places where corrosion has occurred (after its previous mechanical removal as described above in the section: surface preparation), apply AKSIKOR PREPARER in commercial form. The remaining surface should be treated with AKSIKOR PODKOR in diluted form. Use carbamide thinner for dilution. The dilution should be chosen so that the primer does not run off the roof - possible dilution: 3 parts primer and 1 part thinner.
Apply AKSIKOR and AKIKOR PREMIUM paint over AKSIKOR PODKATE after 24 hours.
It is recommended to do a test painting on a small field (approx. 1 sq m).
WARNING
When the recommended interval between coats is not observed, wrinkling or peeling may occur.
The temperature of the air and the substrate should be above +5°C but not above +30°C, the relative humidity of the air max. 80%. Do not paint in fog or rain. Protect painted areas from rain until dry, i.e. 4 hours.
Substrate temperature should be at least 30 ºC above dew point.
