Preparation of the substrate:
Surfaces to be painted should be degreased with water from AKSIKOR Washing and Degreasing Preparation (as recommended in the Technical Data Sheet of AKSIKOR Washing and Degreasing Preparation) using a foam gun or by hand. Then wash (preferably with a pressure washer) and rinse with water and dry.
Place with traces of corrosion should be mechanically cleaned to clean metal (grade St2 according to EN ISO 8501-1 and EN ISO 12944-4 - the surface must not contain dust or poorly adherent particles of scale, rust or paint residues). Use metal brushes or preferably an electric grinder. In the case of galvanised surfaces, the galvanised coating should not be damaged. Thoroughly dust off the surfaces after sanding.
Painting of galvanised sheet metal cleaned of corrosion:
Product in the package should be mixed thoroughly.
Place cleaned of corrosion by the above method should be immediately spot painted with AKSIKOR PODKŁADY water-based anticorrosive primer in commercial form. Depending on the corrosion hazard, apply 1 or 2 layers of primer. Apply the next primer coat after 4 hours under normal conditions (temp. +20±2°C, RH 55±5%).
Leave to dry for 5 hours. After this time it is possible to paint with AKSIKOR or AKSIKOR PREMIUM paint.
New galvanized surfaces require minimum 1 year air seasoning before painting.
The air and substrate temperature should be above +5°C but not above +30°C, the relative humidity of the air max. 80%. Do not paint in fog or rain. Protect the painted areas from rain until dry, i.e. 4 hours.
Substrate temperature should be at least 30 ºC above the dew point.
Tools should be washed with water.
