Application

AKSILUX is used wherever preparation and strengthening of the surface is required before painting with paint or applying finishing materials e.g.: tiles, panels, carpets, wallpaper etc. It is used for concrete substrates e.g. concrete tiles, eternit surfaces, fibre cement, mineral plasters, acrylic plasters, gypsum plaster boards, walls before and after filling, chipboards. The impregnating agent is suitable for external and internal painting of:

  • concrete roofing tiles
  • eternit, acecol boards, fibre cement boards
  • concrete fences, concrete elements, e.g. wall claddings
  • concrete fences and walls
  • . wall claddings
  • facades, mineral plasters, acrylic plasters
  • surfaces for adhesives for thermal insulation systems
  • interior walls, ceilings, gypsum plaster boards, levelling surfaces
  • concrete floors, bases for self-levelling screeds
  • chipboards

Productivity: 3-8 m2 from 1 litre of impregnant for one impregnation - capacity depends on surface texture and absorbency of the substrate - a consumption test is recommended

Properties

AXILUX universal impregnator:

- thanks to its high ability to penetrate into the substrate, it migrates into the substrate binding and strengthening it - even very loosely bound surfaces such as dropping plaster, chalky paints, etc.

- filling the pores of the substrate with acrylic resin evens out the absorption of the entire surface and reduces the consumption of topcoats and improves their adhesion to the impregnated surfaces

- in the case of concrete tiles and eternit it is an indispensable element of the system of renovation of these surfaces by improving the adhesion of paint to the substrate.

- the impregnate does not alter the vapour permeability of the substrates to which it is applied

Expert advice

Surface preparation:

The substrate should be sufficiently firm and even, in the case of fresh plaster, seasoned, free from dirt and free from traces of algae and fungus. In the case of large surfaces e.g. roofs, use a pressure washer and detergent.

Application:

Mix the impregnate thoroughly before use.

Apply usually one coat (depending on the absorbency of the substrate).

Protect poorly bonded surfaces at least twice.

Apply each successive coat after the previous one has dried out, i.e. within approx. 2 hours of the previous coat.

Impregnate can also be applied with a roller or a brush.

If necessary, the impregnate can be diluted with water.

Prevent runs.

Use water to clean painting tools.

Impregnate at a substrate and ambient temperature of 50C to 350C.

Note: Cleaning and painting of eternit should only be carried out by contractors due to the dusting of asbestos, and the need for professional preparation of the eternit surface for painting.

Surface finishing:

Painting, wallpapering, tiling, etc. should be started after the impregnator has dried, preferably not before 12 hours at 20ºC ± 2C and 55 ± 5 % relative humidity.
