BETONLUX - silicone, water-based protective and decorative impregnant with the ability to penetrate deep into the substrate and protect against the harmful effects of water, frost, chloride ions and atmospheric pollution.

  • Type A - impregnate for hydrophobization of mineral surfaces without repainting with paint
  • Type B - impregnate for hydrophobization of mineral surfaces with repainting with protective paint such as AKSILBET * product available in colors

Application

BETONLUX is intended for:

  • hydrophobising impregnation on concrete structures, protecting concrete against carbonation, harmful effects of water and substances dissolved in it, frost and atmospheric pollution (bridges, paving cubes, railway platform slabs, paving slabs, architectural concrete, concrete accessories)
  • protective hydrophobisation of brick and stone structures, as well as fibre concrete.
  • BETONLUX in the colour version allows to enliven the colour of mass-coloured concrete surfaces, e.g. paving cubes and to hide colour defects, discolouration spots, unevenness of staining; it allows to permanently colour concrete surfaces

Colours

BETONLUX can be a clear or coloured product. Basic colours: anthracite, yellow, red.

Properties

BETONLUX impregnate for concrete:

  • gives hydrophobicity to the protected surface, protects surfaces against moisture, precipitation
  • increases the service life of protected surfaces
  • protects against concrete corrosion
  • increases frost resistance
  • protects against contaminants, de-icing salts
  • improves resistance to weathering and aggressive media
  • is also available in coloured versions - it helps to enliven the colour of coloured concrete surfaces
  • in the mass, e.g. paving stones and to hide defects
  • improves the resistance to frost and corrosion
  • improves the resistance to frost. paving stones and hide colour defects, stains and discolourations, unevenness

Expert advice

Surface preparation:

The concrete substrate should be seasoned (for a minimum of 28 days), sound, free of dust and flaking paint coatings and free of grease. If the surface has traces of grease, wash the surface with pressurised detergent water, rinse and dry. Otherwise wash with pressurised water or sand the surface.

Moulded, mossy or algae-infested areas should be mechanically cleaned and disinfected with appropriate products, e.g. Fungicide.

Substrate must be dry, with a maximum moisture content of 4 -6 % and a temperature of +5°C to 30°C, before painting. This is when the hydrohobic effect is most effective.

Painting:

Apply at least two coats u0022wet on wetu0022. The number of coats depends on the requirements. For traffic engineering structures, i.e. bridges, noise barriers, use application to saturate the surface. Apply using the bottom up technique and avoid run-off.

To apply the impregnate to large areas it is best to use a low pressure spray. The impregnate can also be applied with a roller or brush.

Apply at a temperature of +50C to +300C and a relative humidity of up to 60%.

Paint work should be carried out in suitable atmospheric conditions (no fog, rain or snow).

Use water to wash paint tools.
